what is difference for example between slot PCI and DIMM socket beacuse both of them are emaciated and long?

PCI is used for inserting expansion cards, such as video, network, etc. A DIMM socket is used for memory only.
A PCI slot is for holding expansion cards. It will as a rule be located at the back of the computer and own an opening surrounded by the case for the frontage of the card to fit through so you can access the ports on the card to attach a monitor, printer, network cable, etc.



A DIMM socket is used for memory and will in general have little clips at respectively end of the socket to hold the memory surrounded by place.
