My computer crashed,I get FIX-IT UTILITIES CD and since I have lost everything I let the disc do its thing.It formatted, partitioned everything , but presently it wants a Dos Diskette. Do I really inevitability one? Can I go online and work lacking it?
What is a DOS diskette?
It sounds like its not detecting window (this should be the DOS diskette) on your hard drive. This could be mete out it had substandard and needs to be replaced or that when you run the setup it didn't partition and format correctly. Unless you changed something inside ie.. moved cables/jumpers.
You are conversation history mam, no need for it, newly go and work in need it.
Just Put OS CD immediately, Boot, and Install.
well diskette usealy refers to an elder storage media.. thay could store 1.4mb.. alsow call 3,5 diskettes
a Dos Diskette is what came befor the first window..
---
if you know alittle about Bios you can regulation it to boot the CD instead of the harddisk after you put it contained by.. you'll need a disc or DVD with a OS on
OS = Operative System
close to windows 95. window 2000, windows xp home. window xp professional.. Windows xp Media..
or even Windows Vista..
could alsor run Linux is that was your operative system..
Might be an concept to check the Documentation on the FIX IT Utilities CD; It should explain what option you have, and why a DOS disk is needed; If it is after Startup Files, afterwards the Windows CD is what it should be looking for...
