I primarily use Belkin products for this!
Any major brand given name will do the trick- - - - however I know that surge protectors seem vital but it is brown outs that cause more computer wrong than surges and surge protectors do not protect you from those.



What you need is a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) this device will protect your system from both surges and brown outs and can be purchased at any computer store. I've see some very fitting prices at Staples in former times.

Been using one of their surge protectors since I bought my first ever desktop PC in June 1999, and not have a problem yet (despite several power cuts over them years) next to either my desktop PC's or the surge protector.

Same near my Grandma's PC, which has be hooked up to the mains via a BELKIN surge protection strip since August 2001.
