What is a UPS contained by a computer?
UPS is the uninterruptible Power supply its approaching an external power supply that protects it from power surges, either the UPS have gone bad or you hold to reinstall the UPS application cd and make sure that youre using the usb port to connect it
Uninterruptable Power Supply. It keep power to your computer when the wall power fails. People own them so they don't lose important work, and can squirrel away things.
uninterruptible power supply (UPS). commonly used to provide power to a server during a power outage to enable the server to back-up critical information
A UPS isn't in your computer. A UPS is an uninterruptable power supply, essentially a battery backup for your computer. This device is rather useful if your power fail while your computer is running it allows you time to correctly shut down your computer, and some UPS's will actually shut your computer sour for you after a set period of time. Depending on the UPS some will run your computer from 5 minutes to an hour or more. What your cousin is describing is the foremost power supply in the computer. A power supply can cost anywhere from $40 to a few hundred dollars depending on your system. If you hold further questions email me at wsevier@yahoo.com
